 Abstract

Dump truck chassis is a major component in an off-highway vehicle. This research contains modeling, and fatigue failure analysis of heavy vehicle chassis. The main objective is to determine the fatigue life of the chassis. Fatigue failure analysis was carried out to determine stress distributions, withstand higher capacity load to the vehicle and prevent failure of the chassis. A complete feature based chassis model has been developed. The FE mesh model has created and 3D tetrahedral shape of solid element, which will give the closeness to the accurate result. The FE result with varying stress distribution at the front and rear rail structure of the chassis. Life of the chassis approximately more than 30,000 Hrs. Stress and displacement plots with numerical values, major load types like bending and torsion, frame left ramping and right ramping calculations for testing of the chassis has been done. Experimental analysis of fatigue strength of the chassis was carried out to validate the FE analysis. Stress concentration areas of the chassis were investigated in FE analysis and experimental test was performed to validate the FEA results. It was clear that the chassis satisfy the safety factor and fatigue life was more than 30,000 running hours.

 Abstract

This paper has attempted to critically examine the policy initiatives undertaken by the South Asian countries to achieve the targets of Sustainable development goals (SDGs) in this era of emerging challenges, issues and opportunities. South Asian countries are amongst the least developed countries of the world and are suffering from several problems such as poverty, illiteracy, inequality, risks of climate change, environmental degradation, insecurity and injustice. In this study an attempt has been made to analyze the government policies and decisions of the South Asian countries to deal with several emerging as well as pending issues of Socio-economic backwardness. It has also been attempted to examine that how these countries are working in collaboration to grab the opportunities and options of sustainable development. There are eight developing countries in South Asia and all these countries are the member of South Asian Association for regional cooperation (SAARC). Despite having several opportunities of growth and development in a sustainable way the member countries of SAARC are not working properly in collaboration to deal with the problems. Thus the need of the time is to combat the challenges and issues. This study is based on the empirical investigation to critically analyze the policy initiatives and Achievements of the targets of Sustainable development goals by the South Asian countries.

 Abstract

Global environmental changes, nuclear power risks, losses in the electricity grid, and rising energy costs are increasing the desire to rely on more renewable energy for electricity generation. Recently, most people prefer to live and work in smart places like smart cities and smart universities which integrating smart grid systems. The large part of these smart grid systems is based on hybrid energy sources which make the energy management a challenging task. Thus, the design of an intelligent energy management controller is required. The present paper proposes an intelligent energy management controller based on combined fuzzy logic and fractional-order proportional-integral-derivative (FO-PID) controller methods for a smart DC-microgrid. The hybrid energy sources integrated into the DC-microgrid are constituted by a battery bank, wind energy, and photovoltaic (PV) energy source. The source-side converters (SSCs) are controller by the new intelligent fractional order PID strategy to extract the maximum power from the renewable energy sources (wind and PV) and improve the power quality supplied to the DC-microgrid. To make the microgrid as cost-effective, the (wind and PV) energy sources are prioritized. The proposed controller ensures smooth output power and service continuity. Simulation results of the proposed control schema under Matlab /Simulink are presented and compared with the super twisting fractional-order controller.

 Abstract

Due to the high performance of electronic components, the heat generation is increasing dramatically. Effective thermal management is a key for the continuous development of electronics, which are characteristics of modern life. It has a great effect on the lifetime, durability and reliability of these systems. A liquid-cooled microchannel heat sink is a compacted cooling part that used to provide better heat dissipation rates and low temperatures in electronic components. Nanofluid is introduced as effective coolants to be employed in this type of heat sinks to increase the heat dissipation rates. In this work numerical study on rectangular microchannel heat sink for heat transfer enhancement by using water as the base fluid, and SiO2 as nanofluid are carried out, two levels of heat flux, q" = 100 W/cm2 and q" = 200 W/cm2 is applied to the bottom wall of the microchannel heat sink, were studied. This work is mainly focused on laminar flow with Reynolds Numbers 300, 500 and 800 for single-phase liquid flow. The local Nusselt number, average wall temperature, bottom wall termperature, pressure drop and performance factor of finned microchneels are evaluated and compared. It is found that heat transfer performance of nanofluid microchannel is better than rectangular microchannel at all Reynolds numbers. It also finds from results that average surface temperature in case of nanofluid channel are significantly reduced.

 Abstract

The typical characteristics of jobs in the service industry demands extensive emotional regulation on the part of their employees during their customer service interactions, resulting in the experience of Emotional Labour. Over the years, Service sector organizations are facing many challenges due to inadequate management of emotions by the employees. This study attempts to investigate the role of affectivity and organizational social support as an antecedent of emotional labour in service sectors. The study also seeks to investigate the role of emotional exhaustion and turnover intention as the consequent variables of emotional labour. For this purpose, convenience sampling technique was used for data collection through questionnaire. A total of 319 employees belonging to three different types of service organizations across public and private sectors participated in the study. It was hypothesized that the selected variable would be significantly associated with emotional labour. However, the obtained results only partially supported the hypotheses. The study highlighted the need of organizational interventions to develop adequate emotional competence among employees for superior performance.

 Abstract

Abstract Even though the Right to Food (hereinafter referred to as RTF) has been recognised by the international human rights system since its beginning, chronic hunger is nevertheless one of the most blatant abuses of our day. The capacity to get sufficient, wholesome food is still out of reach for almost a billion people. Food costs throughout the world have soared as a result of the economic slump and environmental disasters. In the wake of the food crisis, the problem of global food insecurity became even more urgent. In both India and Ethiopia, the role of the state in ensuring food security is examined in this article. For each country, we investigate the promise and the reality of food security by analysing the normative substance of the RTF under international law. Justice-based approaches to food security focus on the state's role to guarantee that the RTF is realised throughout time and to repair corrupt or dysfunctional institutions that perpetuate systematic inequalities in the distribution of food. There are four interrelated tactics that are central to the approach: building institutions, expanding access to justice, empowering rights holders, and promoting food sovereignty.

 Abstract

Biomass settling issues in wastewater treatment facilities are linked to bacterial growth. They have been suggested to aid in the initial biomass aggregation process in systems based on aerobic granular biomass. Their growth on fully developed aerobic granular systems hasn't been thoroughly investigated, though. In the current study, the microbial community was examined for the first long-term (up to 300 days) operation of aerobic granular systems in an Aerobic Hybrid Bio-Reactor (AHBR) fed with synthetic sugar effluent. In conclusion, the incoming wastewater was the source of bacteria in these mature aerobic granular systems fed with industrial effluents.
