This year's Olympic Games have come to a close, but the legacy they have left behind is far from over. An additional goal of these games was to create an intangible aspect known as "image." The goal of the course was to enhance the image of Delhi and India, and this image has been etched into the minds of the world. Additionally, Delhi's image as a city has been forever altered by the Games' impact on its residents' perceptions of themselves as well as the nation as a whole. Just like an iceberg, this image is only the tip of the iceberg, and what lies beneath that surface is what actually makes up this image in its entirety. A number of social, political, and economic choices have led to this outcome, and the intentions of these decisions have not always been clear. Additionally, it's crucial that we understand how different social and economic groups may be affected by a single project at the same time. In addition, this impact may vary in significance during and after the games' execution and conclusion. Image creation is a result of decision-making, implementation, and subsequent impact.

Lifestyle diseases are a result of an inappropriate relationship of people with their environment. The onset of these lifestyle diseases is insidious, they take years to develop, and once encountered do not lend themselves easily to cure. Diabetes is one of the most common chronic health problems and its prevalence is increasing. While rates of Type 1 diabetes are on the rise, Type 2 diabetes is appearing in children and adolescents and reaching epidemic proportions in the adult population. Exploring the potential role of psychological factors such as stress levels in diabetic patients, belief regarding the causes of diabetes, the availability of social support, the type of life style or behavior that could impair glycemic control etc will facilitate in enhancing the efficacy of the measurement of diabetes and in minimizing further the risks of adverse complications arising out of diabetes. Diabetes is a disease that results from either pancreatic (beta cell) failure (Type 1 Diabetes) or insulin resistance (Type 2 Diabetes). The number of people with Diabetes in the World would reach 300 million by 2025 (WHO, 2007).

Infrastructure is an important factor in achieving economic growth. Despite announcing open department policy India is still ranked among the lowest countries in the global competition report. This is due to the lack of infrastructure which are obstacles to the growth of the Indian economy especially in the period of independence. Investment in infrastructure is essential to support high levels of industrial growth. A study by international banks has shown that one percent growth in infrastructure leads to equitable economic growth. The government is well aware that it is beyond its capacity to provide the necessary funding of this size for infrastructure development so the government has adopted a policy of libralisation in order to secure the necessary funding for infrastructure development.

L-alanine single crystals have been subjected to gamma ray irradiation. The effects of gamma ray irradiation have been studied by various tools FTIR, UV-Vis-NIR analysis and electron paramagnetic resonance. Photoluminescence for the gamma irradiated L-alanine shows the linear dependence on dosage. The results have been discussed in detail for both irradiated and unirradiated crystals of L-alanine.

The antimicrobial activity and phytochemical properties were screened using ethanol, methanol, chloroform, ethyl acetate, petroleum ether, hexane, hot water, and acetone extracts of Coleus forskohlii, Lamiaceae. Root extracts of Coleus forskohlii were evaluated by agar well diffusion method against six bacterial species and five fungal species. Preliminary phytochemical analysis of the root extract revealed the presence of alkaloids, carbohydrates, glycosides, proteins, amino acids, flavonoids, tannins, phenolic compounds and terpenoids in the different root extracts was established. The ethanol extract was more effective against Bacillus cereus and Micrococcus luteus and Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus, whereas acetone extract was more effective against Micrococcus luteus, Bacillus cereus and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The different extracts were also found to be effective against the test fungi such as Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Candida albicans, Candida tropicalis, and Cryptococcus neoformans. The results of the present study suggest that Coleus forskohlii roots can be used in treating diseases caused by the tested organisms.

Salmonella typhi, an enteric pathogen causing typhoid fever, is still extremely common in developing parts of the world. Research on developing polysaccharide conjugate vaccines gained interest for its specificity in producing efficient immune responses when compared to native polysaccharide vaccines. A novel Typhoid Vi-capsular-polysaccharide-Tetanus toxoid conjugate vaccine was tested for its protective efficacy when challenged with 20LD50 of live S. typhi cultures (222x105.3) to the pre-immunized mice with test and reference vaccines. The ED50 values for test and reference vaccines were calculated as 10.09 and 8.99 respectively. This study has proved that the immunization with the experimental ViPs-TT conjugate vaccine was able to protect mice even at the lowest concentration tested.
